- The Mascone Center is hopping today as it kicks of Ad-tech San Francisco. I'm planning to attend tomorrow for a bit to learn about the latest happenings in digital marketing. I am checking out my company's presence as a sponsor, a newly re-branded company, and for the new launch of a product. It's the biggest trade show in the online advertising industry, so there's lots to check out both on the session schedule (jam packed with 3 tracks), industry peer booths, and just all around networking. Last year I went and while I was registering I ran into someone I worked with at my 1st job in NYC over 10 years ago. Once again the networking effect

April 18 - living without a car
Ok, this article is for anyone out there who is still asking, "but how would I survive without my car?"
Well, if you are in the rural Nebraskan plains, or the desolate Montana Blackfoot territory, then this is probably not for you.
For anyone in a city however, it can be done fairly easily. I personally do not have a car, and really haven't had a need for one since I stopped trekking to the Travers Island, NY boathouse at 5:30am every morning (about 5 years ago).
This article in Wikihow is all about how to do it and why it's a good idea. I love the Wikis.

April 18 - Google & DCLK commentary
One of my trusted media sources, OnlineMediaDaily had this to say and "7 key questions from the DoubleClick Deal":
I agree these are all valid concerns, and as time uncovers each one, I don't think these are going to be major issues that are not resolved.

April 17 - Boston Marathon Bonus Story

Read full coverage of the Pattiann and Aaron Heartbreak hill marriage in today's Boston Globe.
I must say, never have I been to a more unconventional, spontaneous, casual yet very well planned wedding. Certainly tops the list of answers if I'm ever asked, "What is the craziest wedding you have ever been to?"
I'm still in Boston, and it's still raining. It's forecast to rain until I leave, and be nice for the following weekend - or - the 2nd phase of the wedding odessey.

Marraige is a Marathon
- Greetings from Boston MA. Site of the 50th Boston Marathon. Today Aaron and Pattiann, two of my good friends will be married while running the marathon. Mile 21, heartbreak hill, to be exact. It's pouring and cold outside, but their spirits are definitely not dampened. I'm heading out to join them shortly at the tent where Aaron's Mom will be conducting the marriage ceremony.
- Congrats to these two love birds in their marathon-wear wicky tux and white spandex shorts. I am very happy for them and excited to be in the activities
