- Greetings from Dublin, it's nice to be home. It is snowing here today, which is more rare than finding a 4 leaf clover apparently.
- I've bought a new cell phone. Big fan of http://www.ubid.com where electronics are as cheap as they get, plus shipping of course.
- The new office here is great - a lot of natural light and plenty of sodas

- Checking out a site I normally don't go to, but could see more of in my future, I found this cool article called: MSN Money - 5 great, cheap growth stocks and a tool to find more - Jubak's Journal . I'm not an active investor these days, but this at least made sense to me.

- Happy Hump day. Not a bad day though, as in 2 days I'm leaving for Dublin where I will see and stay with Nora. I hope to see some folks from my Whitsunday sailing as well, as well as an x-boyfriend. Very exciting reunions all around!

- Rainy and cold - NYC is not pleasant today.
Brr. My photo print from Sydney arrived! Too bad it was left outside my appt.
I can't believe they just left it there - as a Holiday all consent to leave is void, apparently.

Happy Tibetian New Year! Last night I attended an amazing concert for the Tibet House US at Carnegie Hall. This was sandwiched inbetween a pre and post party. We even spotted Uma Thurman in the ranks, bidding away her hard earned cash for a good cause. Check out the all star line-up:
TIBET HOUSE U.S. PROGRAMS: Special Programs
One of the best parts of the evening was a 8 minute clip from a local documentary: Bullets in the Hood - a Bed-Stuy Story. This film is possible due to grants from corporations who give to support projects like this. Without funding, things like this wouldn't be possible. The director Terrence spoke at our screening, and was on the Today show this morning.
Read more about it here: Bullets in the Hood - a Pro-TV Production by Terrence Fisher and Danny Howard
Must prepare for a "webinar" now - more later.

Welcome to the Blue Bobsled!
Come fly with me, up and away, on my blue bobsled!
No no, it's just a figurative term. Why Blue Bobsled? Well, no one had a blog named that first on blogger.com. Years ago, I had a dream that involved me driving in a limo with my parents to the debut of the opening of my new bar, the Blue Bobsled! I have no idea how visionary it is, but the name always stuck and I think people will remember it.
That said, here's to future posts, and enjoying the life of a blogger.
Why a blog?
I've always been a web-aholic, before it was the web or the Internet. Back in the early 1990's I thought it was the most amazing thing to log into the SUNY Albany VAX and try to find who else was on the system, and who was connected at other networks. I'd post on any user group that I thought could use my comments. I gopher'd and finger'd my way around and probably struck up more random conversations around the US, and probably the world, just for the sake of remote and virtual conversations. One of my favorite memories was seeing if my other geeky friend Colleen was on her network at Georgetown, and then we did what was a 1991 version of Instant Messengering. Betcha didn't know you could do that back then!
So, a blog is the next evolutionary step after my web site postings on various URLs that had mostly to do with my rowing career. Maybe I'll post those for you some day.
Enjoy!
